“I am a Breast Cancer Survivor.”
In year 2015, I discovered that I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer stage 2. I felt scared and sad for the first time of my life. I never knew that I would get this kind of sickness because I am an active person and I never missed going for my check ups. I never felt the pain in my chest area.
I started going for treatment at a local government hospital in Kuching City, Sarawak. It was tiring but I knew that I have to be strong in order to survive for my loved ones. as the treatment goes by, the doctor in charged advised me to cut off my right breast. At first I was reluctant to accept that advised but when I think back, God made a plan for me and this maybe one of it. I kept praying to God asking why out of all people, I was the one chosen?? In the end, after doing some thinking, I agreed with the doctor’s decision to remove one of my breast. I then went for my surgery on the 7th of June 2015.
I started my chemotherapy in August 2015. I undergo 4 times of this painful and heart breaking therapy. I almost gave up a couple of times but luckily the doctor gave me the motivation to continue on with my life. After that, I have to undergo for a radiotherapy session for 20 times which eventually ended on the 31st of January 2016. The doctor prescribed me some medication for prevention of another breast cancer. I have to take it for 5 years continuously.
Today, I am a happy and healthy woman. I thank my friends, families, the doctors as well as nurses who help me through this journey of being a Breast Cancer patient. I hope with this story of mine I can help all those cancer patients out there to never give up on life. I am proud to say that I AM A SURVIVOR.
